We based ourselves in Interlaken first and then in Appenzell. Due to rain, we had to make a few changes that resulted in a little bit more driving than originally planned, but thankfully, we were able to complete most of our must-dos.
Day 1: Drive Zurich to Beatenburg and we stayed at Ula’s Holiday Apartments
Day 2: Zermatt
* Wolli’s Park
* Gorner Gorge
* Sion to photograph Basilique de Valère

Day 3: Lauterbrunnen + Interlaken
* Photos in Lauterbrunnen — GO EARLY
* Schynige Platte via Cogway
* Old Town Interlaken Bridge — Schaalbrücke

Day 4: Triftbrücke
* Trift Bridge Hike
* Furka Pass to shoot Belvedere Hotel

Day 5: Grindelwald
* First cable car (8am) to top
* First Cliff Walk
* Bachalpsee Hike
* Alpenspiel Platz at Bort station
* Spiel Platz in Gimmelwald

Day 6: Kandersteg
* Oeschinen Panorama Trail
* Blausee Lake (opens 9am) — TOURIST TRAP, do not recommend

Day 7: Drive Interlaken to Appenzell
* Aare Gorge
* Thur Waterfall
* St Martin Church in Chur and walk around old town

Day 8: Appenzell
* Breakfast at Aescher via Ebenalpe
* Seealpsee

Day 9: Stoos + Appenzell
* Stoos Ridge — arrive early to get funicular up to Kligenstock lift to get first chair — this hike is BUSY
* Saxer-Lücke

Day 10: Drive Appenzell to Zurich and head back to the USA
This trip wasn’t cheap by any means, however much of it was paid for beforehand, as this was a canceled trip during Covid. Other than Blausee Lake, I’d recommend everything we did and I can’t wait to go during the fall some year!
